I'd like to welcome you to this little slice of literary heaven, otherwise known as my profile. Oh, I meant "portrait". I am not a knight in shining armor, nor am I likely to be a soul mate. I am your basic, 50 year old guy. I have the normal likes/dislikes (more on that later), with a mild set of baggage that is probably not unusual for us single folk. I'm not a control freak, and my couch is not form-fitted to my rear end. I understand the concept of decent manners, such as not belching in front of my date, washing my hands after a trip to the restroom, using silverware instead of fingers, and I remember to put the toilet seat down. A "romantic dinner" is not a dark booth in the corner of a Red Lobster. Beaches are fun, when geographically available. I'm not big on walking in thunderstorms. The idea of getting transformed into a pile of smoldering ash doesn't hold much appeal for me. But I swear I'm pretty good company, and make it a practice to treat my partner pretty well. And I use proper grammar and can spell. Just to demonstrate my incredible spelling skills, I will now spell the word "independence". "Independence, I-N-D-E-P-E-N-D-E-N-C-E". You'll note that there is no "A" in that word. ;) I am originally from California. Been here ten years now. No, I don't worship Satan, nor do I protest the treatment of artichokes. I am pretty open minded, certainly politically liberal (Democrat). I have a St Bernard whose manners are a work in progress, but like me, has some endearing qualities.
